Why you should thank a Veteran

Celebrate Veterans Day on Evertalk with a Tribute page

I’m not a Veteran myself, but I sure can appreciate the sacrifices Veterans make for our country.  I’m fortunate to live in a country where, without conscription, a civilian military comprised entirely of volunteers is here to protect and serve their fellow citizens.  If you look back into history, you will see just how rare it is for a nation to have a volunteer based military. The fact that we have people so brave as to enlist themselves to an uncertain future is enough to make my head spin – probably because I live under the cloak of their protection and I could never dream of exemplifying this type of bravery.

This weekend is Veterans Day (Sunday, November 11, 2012).  You should thank a Veteran because they deserve your gratitude for standing up and applying themselves and their lives to a purpose that is greater than themselves.  This is the ultimate demonstration of unselfishness that ought to be revered and recognized.  You can do you part this Veterans Day by adding another brick (so to speak) in the Facebook Veterans tribute wall on Evertalk.  Go to Evertalk on Facebook:  https://apps.facebook.com/evertalk and create a free tribute page to honor and recognize a Veteran.  Share that page with all your friends on Facebook to show your pride.

Happy Veterans Day.
